The method
In the AvEx section, young people learn to organise themselves, get involved, make their own decisions, respect others, and live and act as part of a group. Rather than simply following rules set by leaders, they learn to use them as guidance and are encouraged to voice their own opinions and help shape group life.
They put this into practice in patrols — small teams in which they learn, both at weekly meetings and at camp, to take responsibility and work together for the good of every member.
